古今中外，頭飾是一種彰顯自我身分的配件，\n\n如藝術家的貝蕾帽、送報者的報童帽\n\n可以告訴對方「我是誰」、「我的認同與歸屬」。 位於臺東縣金峰鄉嘉蘭村的魯凱族社會，族人的階層地位以及成就、權力與貞潔也都展現於頭飾中。其中，百合花的佩戴象徵著男子的狩獵能力及女子的貞潔。\n\n \n 嘉蘭村是由七個排灣族部落所聚成的，在日治時期至國民政府遷臺期間，原本居住在知本溪、太麻里溪等地的排灣族人，陸續遷移到此地，使嘉蘭村逐漸成為排灣族部落。 然而，當魯凱族人自1960年代開始遷徙至嘉蘭村後，\n\n歷經與當地排灣族群融合、部落內部制度變遷後，\n\n佩戴百合花的「花權」，也在族群共融及與自我認同共處間，產生轉變。\n\n \n 與排灣文化差距小：排灣族與魯凱族傳統社會文化相似性高，居住範圍近，以及緊密通婚的關係，因此，自然地培養出和睦的相處之道。 謀生發展的機會多：在1957年至1963年間，嘉蘭村有生薑、菊花以及梅子等相關作物生產，顯示市場運作活絡，勞動人力需求也相對大。 親屬之間的號召力：早先移入的居民或親屬傳回有利的消息，促使遷移行為不斷進行，而原居地與新居地互動越來越密切，讓有遷移想法魯凱族人更有意願進行遷移。
